Pragma supports Inflexion in Mountain Warehouse investment


The Pragma team is delighted to announce that we supported leading UK mid-market private equity house Inflexion in its acquisition of a minority stake in Mountain Warehouse.  Pragma, provided commercial due diligence for the £45 million investment, which is set to scale the brand's international growth plans.

Recognised as the outdoor segment's star performer, Mountain Warehouse has seen market leading growth in the last five years – in the UK and internationally – with reported sales of £185m in 2017. Store roll-outs, consistent innovation within its product range together with significant investment in its digital proposition have driven this.  At the same time, consumer demand for athleisure and the rise of healthy, increasingly active, living, have fuelled Mountain Warehouse's success, alongside the vacuum created by key high street collapses in the broader apparel sector.

Our role was to review Mountain Warehouse's multichannel commercial performance, validate its multichannel sales headroom in the UK and across target international markets, as well as assess the strength of the brand across Europe and the US.

With Inflexion's strong track record of delivering growth and Mountain Warehouse's consistent desire to redefine its offer, we look forward to seeing how this next chapter for both parties unfolds.
