Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport is the primary international airport in Mumbai, India. It is the second busiest airport in the country, and was ranked 48th busiest airport in the world in 2013.
The Challenge/Task
Pragma was asked to assist MIAL in the development of the optimum commercial mix for the new Terminal 2 in order to maximise revenues and passenger satisfaction.
WHAT WE DID
Developed a full commercial revenue model for the international and domestic retail
Determined the category level growth strategy and forecasts for a 10 year period
Determined the optimum category mix, space allocation and configuration, and quantified the revenue impact
Developed the optimum positioning strategy
The Result
Pragma’s input provided analytics for the overall business plan for the terminal, and assisted the commercial team in determining the most suitable commercial mix for the requirements of passengers.
