Malta International Airport

Client:
Malta International Airport

Task:

Conduct research and analysis to understand passengers, identify improvements to current commercial offer and develop a space supportable model.

What we did:

• Pragma conducted a full analysis of potential passengers and their retail and food and beverage requirements, including airside in-depth qualitative interviews with passengers to determine their needs and requirements.
• This work gave Malta Airport a full segmentation of their passengers, including the key drivers of holiday, business and other passengers and their retail and F&B requirements.
• Pragma also provided a review of commercial operations benchmarking the airport against other airports of a similar size.
• Finally, Pragma developed a revenue and space demand model using the new segmentation data.

Result:

The results of Pragma's work were used to develop the masterplan for the new airside departure lounge, which opened in 2009 and is already showing significantly improved financial performance.
